LASER /IPL HAIR REMOVAL

Laser Treatment for unwanted hair is a non-invasive approach to permanent reduction and long-term hair removal. Treatment is specifically designed to eliminate undesired hair from all parts of the body, safely and instantly. Unlike many other methods, Laser Therapy leaves your skin looking and feeling smoother and softer.

LASER / IPL ACNE TREATMENT

A laser technology known as "Smooth Beam" targets the sebaceous gland, the oil-producing root of the acne problem. It will actually shrink the gland and decrease the amount of sebum produced. Usually 3 - 6 laser treatments are needed for patients to begin to notice the benefits. Potential side effects of the treatment include a slight redness that usually goes away quickly, & wrinkle reduction. Acne scar treatment with a laser involves using the laser to remove the outer layer of skin so that new skin can form in its place.

IPL PHOTO FACIAL / PHOTOREJUVENATION

Intense Pulsed Light technology ( IPL) is a treatment breakthrough that can give you the younger-looking skin you would love to have. Far more effective than creams or so-called “wrinkle lasers”, IPL improves the appearance of sun-damaged skin on the face and body by treating broken capillaries, age spots and sun damage with brief treatments and no “down time.”

A painless, no downtime procedure in which three different lasers are used to first remove dilated veins or capillaries on the face. They will usually be most noticed around the nose, under the eyes and on the cheeks. Of course, we can also erase spider veins elsewhere on the body. The second laser is used to lighten or erase brown pigments such as age and liver spots, sun-related damage and hormone-induced dark areas of the skin. Finally, a third laser is used to stimulate collagen production, thus reducing fine lines and wrinkles. All of this can be done in thirty minutes. Redness will subside three hours later and you can resume normal activities immediately after the procedure.

IPL ROSACEA TREATMENT  

At Focus we treat the redness and broken veins of Rosacea with Intense Pulse Light using the Lumenis Quantum SR machine.  This delivers a pulse of red light to the broken vessels causing them to heal up and fade away. IPL is used to treat a wide variety of conditions apart from Rosacea such as red birthmarks, pigmented skin lesions, thread veins and unwanted hair. A course of 4 to 6 treatments at 3 to 4 week intervals produces the best results. Improvement may continue for many weeks after the course has finished. Rosacea is a relapsing condition and this treatment improves the appearance but does not cure the Rosacea. If you have active inflammatory Rosacea then this will need to be controlled with medication before you can have IPL treatment. Prior to treatment you will receive a comprehensive medical screening regarding your condition by our Surgical Nurse.

LASER BIRTHMARK REMOVAL

Birthmarks can effectively be treated with the Candela Dye or Versapulse laser. By emitting a precise and narrow wavelength of light that is absorbed by the hemoglobin pigment in the red blood cells, thermal energy that is created causes the tiny blood vessels to shrink and seal off. In many cases, removal is accomplished after one treatment. Sometimes, more than one treatment may be required.

LASER TATOO REMOVAL

Laser energy is directed at the tattooed area for a fraction of a second, passing harmlessly through the outer layer of the skin and targeting the tattoo ink directly. The laser disrupts the ink, allowing your body to absorb it and break it down naturally. The process is not immediate. After the treatment, the ink that was exposed to the laser will break down and be removed by your body's immune system over a period of weeks. Once that process is complete, you can come in for your next visit, repeating the process until the tattoo is gone. Most tattoos average 5 to 15 treatments for full removal. Some ink colors are harder to target and require more sessions. Because it is your body that actually breaks down the ink, every person's removal process will be different.

REJUVI TATOO REMOVAL

Rejuvi Tattoo Remover utilizes a unique chemical extraction mechanism to soften the tattoo pigments that gradually moves to the skin surface. Rejuvi Tattoo Removal is non-color selective (applicable to all tattoo colors), effective, quick and safe. Although it is possible, if sufficiently applied, only one treatment is needed for a tattooed area. However, this can result in some discomfort for a few days.  We generally recommend 2 - 3 shorter treatments.  It will take longer to remove your tattoo, but you will be more comfortable. The time required for a treatment depends upon the removal area (usually within 30 minutes for 2 square inches of tattoo).  

ERBIUM LASER SKIN RESURFACING  

Erbium laser skin resurfacing is a procedure specifically designed to remove superficial and moderately deep lines and wrinkles on the face. The Erbium laser produces less heating or burning of surrounding tissues than other lasers used for resurfacing. This allows your Practitioner to gently and comfortably vaporize the damaged skin cells layer by layer. Most cases require only a local or topical anesthetic. Your practitioner will review your medical history, age, skin type and pigmentation, consider your desired results, and determine the best course of treatment for you. Results will vary from patient to patient depending on age, skin type, and condition.

SCLEROTHERAPY AND VEIN REMOVAL THERAPY

New laser therapy is available to virtually erase unsightly leg veins in as little as one treatment. Deeper leg veins can be treated with an injection of a solution similar to salt water. Once treated, fading occurs, exposing younger appearing skin.
